Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico to a family of musicians. Her early years were spent listening to classical music, boleros from the past, as well as traditional ranchero and romantic ballads. Ana is an avid fan of tangos. Additionally, she enjoys operas and any form dramatic performance. She was taught by her mother to sing, however she started more intense singing lessons through Flavio Belcerra when she was just 16 years old. he was a renowned Mexican opera singer and tenor. Her music training continued in the School of Music of Guadalajara University. Later, she attended the School of Sacred Music of Toluca. As a student and being a young professional in Mexico City and Guadalajara she sang with several chamber groups and choruses. After moving from Mexico to America at the age of 2000, she sang for the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. She sings in Ensemble XXI Redlands, and performs Latin American traditional music solo for many private functions. Her passion for performing, music, and the arts keep her involved in local activities in both her capacity as an artist and educator. Ana was also a member of both the Community Chorus of Redlands and Inland Master Chorale. She is presently a professor at the Performance Loft. Ana hopes that with her performance songs from Latin American traditional songs, that she will bring about a desire, specifically among the younger generation, for keeping this music in the present.
